As parents age they develop health issues, many live on a fixed income, they become less able to do the same things around the house that they used to do, and when there’s the loss of one parent, the other is left alone without a companion around the house. The task of finding the right home situation becomes reversed, and it often becomes the adult child’s job to make sure mom or dad has a comfy home and is financially stable.
